Certified, professionally trained service dogs are accepted free of charge in the Caribbean Airlines’ aircraft cabins when accompanying a passenger with disabilities.

Dogs are the only service animals accepted in the Caribbean Airlines aircraft cabins.

Service animals are not allowed to occupy a seat on the aircraft but will be accommodated on the floor space at the passenger’s feet. Service animals must not protrude into the aisles. An approved in-cabin kennel may be used for smaller animals provided its use meet stowage requirement.

Exit row seating is prohibited for persons with disabilities. To request seating that will best accommodate the passenger and accompanying service animal, please contact Caribbean Airlines Reservations at least 48 hours prior to departure.

INTERNATIONAL DESTINATIONS

Vaccination and documentation requirements for all animals, including service animals may be required for persons travelling to international destinations. Additional documentation may also be required depending on the country of entry.

Some countries restrict the entry of animals. Restrictions may vary by country, and customers should contact the appropriate embassy or consulate at least four weeks before departure to ensure all necessary procedures are followed.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT or PSYCHIATRIC ASSIST ANIMALS

Psychiatric assist animals and emotional support animals are also accepted in the cabin for qualified individuals.

Dogs are the only emotional support or psychiatric animals accepted in the Caribbean Airlines aircraft cabins.

Advance Notice
Customers traveling with emotional support or psychiatric dogs must provide a minimum of 48-hours advance notification to Caribbean Airlines Reservations. If advance notification is not provided, customers will be required to transport the animal as a pet and pet fees will apply.

Documentation
Customers traveling with emotional support or psychiatric dogs will be required to submit the required documentation by fax 1-800 944 8999/ 1-868 625 1025 or email mail@caribbean-airlines.com at least 48 hours before departure time of your flight.

Caribbean Airlines is not required to accept the animal for transportation unless the passenger provides current documentation (i.e. not more than one year old from the date of the passenger’s scheduled initial flight) on the letterhead from a licensed mental health professional stating:

	The passenger has a mental health-related disability recognized in the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders;
	That having the animal accompany the passenger is necessary to the passenger’s mental health or treatment;
	The individual providing the assessment of the passenger is a licensed mental health professional (e.g. psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed clinical social worker) and the passenger is under his or her professional care; and
	The date and type of the mental health professional’s license and the state or other jurisdiction in which it was issued.

Caribbean Airlines will contact the mental health care professional to verify documentation prior time of travel. If documentation is not validated, the customer will be required to transport the animal as a pet and pet fees will apply.

Once validated, the animal may sit at the customer’s feet without protruding into the aisles to comply with safety regulations. Customers may elect to use an approved in-cabin kennel for smaller animals. Exit row seating is prohibited for passengers traveling with psychiatric assist animals and emotional support animals.
